Rapid e-Learning or REL is often defined as online learning that can be created in a matter of weeks, without the need to know Flash or HTML programming. We see REL as a quick and cost-effective way to transfer knowledge from those who have it (Subject Matter Experts) to those who don't (Learners).

The "Rapid" in Rapid e-Learning can and should refer to the design, development, and deployment phases of a REL project. To move quickly through these phases and facilitate collaboration among project team members, a number of REL authoring tools can be found in the marketplace today.
